We are so thankful this portion of the process has gone smoothly. Now that the government has approved baby "L" to immigrate to the U.S., we have 1 of the 2 required letters for us to received a court date.
Here is what we are waiting on now before we can travel...
The MOWCYA (Ministry of Women, Children and Youth Affairs)/birth parent court date will need to be scheduled by the courts (Our family will not travel to this court date.) This is the court date where a birth relative or finder will be interviewed by court and the MOWCYA recommendation letter is supposed to be written. (Yes! Another interview different from the one that was completed for the embassy process). Unfortunately, not all families have a MOWCYA letter written by their initial court date, and this letter must be written before a family can travel for their own court date. Once the MOWCYA recommendation letter is received by the court, we should receive a court date within a few days, and will travel for your court appointment within roughly 1-2 weeks.
The ongoing unrest has caused delays in both MOWCYA and the court system unfortunately. We really have NO way of knowing when these things will happen for our case. It could be a month...it could be 6 months.
Thank you for the prayers and continued support during this journey, we are prayerfully trusting that we will be sharing good news soon.
